The short version

Some of the hotel, flight and transfer links on this site are paid links. If you book through one, we get a commission from the booking company. Your price is the same either way, and it never affects what we recommend.

How this site is funded

Athens Tourism Guide is free to read, carries no subscription and sells nothing. It is funded by affiliate commission, earned through the Travelpayouts affiliate network, which connects the site to booking companies such as Aviasales and Hotellook. Where a guide links to a hotel, a flight or an airport transfer, that link may be placed through Travelpayouts. If you book after following one, the booking company pays us a commission out of its own margin.

It does not change your price. The commission comes out of what the booking company would otherwise have kept, not out of what you pay.

What it does not buy

Nothing on this site is a paid placement. No hotel, tour operator, restaurant or attraction pays to be included, none of them sees an article before it is published, and none of them can buy a position in one. Guides are researched and written first; links are added afterwards, to the places the guide already recommends. Where something is named here, it is because it earned the space.

The site is independently owned and holds no commercial relationship with any Athenian hotel, tour operator, restaurant, museum or public body. It is not a booking agency, and it is not a party to any booking you make: the contract is between you and the company that takes your money.

What this means for your data

When you follow one of these links, Travelpayouts and the booking company you land on set a cookie or a similar identifier so that a booking made afterwards can be credited to this site. It records the booking, not what you read here. We are not given your name, your contact details or your payment details. There is more detail in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
