Corrections and updates

This is the most useful thing you can write to us about. Athens moves faster than a published guide: the Ministry of Culture switches sites between summer and winter hours, ticket prices are revised, a museum closes a wing for restoration, a taverna that anchored a whole neighbourhood guide shuts for good, a metro line runs replacement buses for a fortnight.

If you have just been to Athens and something here did not match what you found, tell us. The report is far more useful if it includes:

  • the page you were reading, or the URL,
  • what it says and what you found instead,
  • the date you were there,
  • and a source if you have one — a photograph of a sign, or a link to the operator’s own page.

Corrections with a source usually get made within a few days. Corrections without one still get looked at, they just take longer to verify.

Other things worth writing about

  • Gaps. If you went looking for something about Athens on this site and could not find it, that is a commissioning brief. Say what you were trying to work out.
  • Accessibility. Step-free routes, lift outages on the metro, which ancient sites have usable surfaces — first-hand reports on this are hard to come by and always welcome.
  • Media and press. Quoting the site, or asking about the research behind a guide, is fine. Say what you need and by when.
  • Privacy requests. Access, correction or deletion requests under the GDPR or UK GDPR should come through here. See the privacy policy for what we hold, which is very little.

What we cannot help with

To save you the wait for a reply that will not be useful:

  • Bookings. We do not sell or arrange anything. We cannot reserve an Acropolis slot, change your hotel, chase a refund, or contact a tour operator for you. If something has gone wrong with a booking, the company that took your money is the only party who can fix it.
  • Personal itinerary planning. We cannot build a bespoke five-day plan around your flight times. The itinerary guides on the site are the answer to that, and they are free.
  • Emergencies. If you are in Athens and something has gone wrong, do not email a website. The general emergency number in Greece is 112; the tourist police are on 1571. Your embassy handles lost passports.
  • Link building, guest posts and paid placement. The site does not publish guest articles, sell links, or accept sponsored content, so these will not get a reply.

Response times

This is a small independent site, not a newsroom. Most messages are answered within three to five working days. Corrections are prioritised over everything else.
